Disaster Management

Disaster is a sudden accident or a natural catastrophe that causes great damage or loss of life. Every year Nepal suffers from a monumental loss of life and property due to disasters. Nepal lies at an earthquake-prone area; it is the 11th riskiest place according to the United Nations. Every year more than 1000 people on average die due to floods and landslides. Many of these disasters cannot be entirely avoided but the loss of life and property can be greatly minimized by using the right tools and preparations. Manyideas have been put forward and greatly reduced the risks by the disasters in developed nations.

Modernization and technical innovations are lacking in the context of Nepal. With the right tools and preparations lives of thousands can be saved every year. Since some disasters are inevitable tools can also be developed to help ease the response and rescue after said disasters. These tools are a matter of life and death to the people affected by the disasters so the creation of these tools and innovations in the sector is a must. These tools must be reliable, resilient, portable, scalable, economically viable and diligent.
